What is the TurboTax Refer-a-Friend Program?

Intuit’s TurboTax has partnered with Extole to offer the TurboTax Refer-a-Friend program. The TurboTax Refer-a-Friend Program allows you to earn a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card (sent to you via email) reward for every friend you refer who completes his or her taxes with any TurboTax Federal Basic, Deluxe, Premier and Home & Business product. Your friend gets 20% off any TurboTax federal online product they choose (Basic, Deluxe,Premier or Home & Business). This is only for TurboTax online customers and the discount only applies to their federal tax return (state tax returns are additional). You can earn a maximum of $200 in Amazon.com Gift Cards (sent to you via email) but there is no limit to the number of friends you refer.
How does the Refer-a-Friend Program work?
  • First, visit the share page: http://refer.turbotax.intuit.com/ 
  • Then, send a referral email to a friend or family member, or post a referral on Facebook or Twitter.  Once you share, you are assigned a share link, which allows us to track all of your referrals.  If a friend clicks on your link and completes his or her taxes, you’ll receive the $10 Amazon.com Gift Card (sent to you via email) reward.  You will receive the $10 Amazon.com Gift Card (sent to you via email) 45 days after your friend completes their return on TurboTax online.
Who is eligible to participate in the TurboTax Refer-a-Friend Program?
  • You have to be over 18 years old and a resident of the US to earn a reward. 
  • In order to earn a reward, your friend must be a NEW TurboTax customer.
By when do I need to use the gift card (sent via email)?
There is no expiration date on Amazon.com Gift Cards. Please note that the Gift Card is sent to you via email. Gift cards may be used only for purchases of eligible goods at Amazon.com.
What happens if I never got my gift card emailed to me?
The $10 Amazon Gift Card rewards (sent via email) will be sent to you via email 45 days after your friend completes their tax return using TurboTax Online. To inquire about your gift card, just send an email to support@extole.com and we will re-send your reward to your via email inbox. Our partner, Extole, will be able to answer your questions. You should receive a reply back to your email within two hours of sending your email inquiry. Extole support is available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm PST. 
How do I redeem my Amazon.com Gift Card reward (reward sent via email)?
It’s easy. Redeem your Amazon.com Gift Card reward in just a few steps.  First, copy the ‘claim code’ in the reward email.  Then, sign in to your Amazon.com account, and click ‘Apply a Gift Card to Your Account’.  Finally, enter your claim code and click ‘Apply to Your Account’.
My friend said I should have seen an email with a discount of 20% for TurboTax online, I don’t see the email (and I use Gmail) 
  • If you are using Gmail, please check the promotions tab (this is web default setting) or the spam folder.
  • If you use work email, it may have gone to a junk folder or to a spam folder.

How many people can I refer?
You can refer an unlimited number of friends, and we encourage our customers to share with as many friends as they would like. However, you can earn a maximum of $200 in Amazon Gift cards.
Are the Amazon gift cards sent to my home address?
Amazon Gift Cards will be sent to you via email. Please make sure that you have the correct email address listed in your TurboTax account and within the Refer-a-Friend program.

How do I track my referrals?
You can track referrals with a ‘dashboard’ email that shows the status of all of your referrals. Just visit the Share page (http://refer.turbotax.intuit.com/) then click on the ‘Email My Stats’ link, found under the sharing options.
Once I earn a referral, when will I receive my reward?
We will send your Amazon.com Gift Card reward approximately 45 days after your friend completes his or her taxes with TurboTax.   
How many rewards can I earn?
You can earn up to a total of twenty rewards, or $200 in Amazon.com Gift Cards (sent via email). You can refer to an unlimited number of friends.
I accidentally deleted my Amazon Gift Card reward email.  Can it be resent?
Yes, of course.  Just send an email to support@extole.com and we will re-send your reward to you via email.

What if I referred my friend, he or she completed his or her taxes with TurboTax, but I never got a reward?
No problem – please send an email to support@extole.com with the email addressed you used to register for the program.  In this email, please include the email address of your friend, and the support team will look for his or her referral in our system.
How do I unsubscribe from your email list?
Each e-mail should contain an unsubscribe link, or you can unsubscribe by sending an e-mail to support@extole.com and include the e-mail address you would like unsubscribed.  Note: The only reason you would receive e-mail from us if you haven't registered is because someone you know thought you might like this offer. We do not sell e-mail addresses and we do not send spam.
Are there any special restrictions or rules for the program?
This program has a simple set of rules to ensure that users are referring their friends, and not spamming large lists or referring themselves.  The rules are:
  1. Users may earn one (1) reward for each valid referral.
  2. Users may not submit multiple e-mail addresses and/or multiple credit card numbers to set up accounts in an attempt to earn a reward or an additional reward. 
  3. Users may not participate in a Refer-a-Friend Program where doing so would be prohibited by any applicable law or regulations.
  4. Users may not use Spam to obtain referrals. Users may not acquire referrals through unsolicited e-mail to persons unknown to them, or through use net or message board postings, where the postings are unrelated to the topic of discussion or otherwise violate the terms of the sit.

The web site (refer.turbotax.intuit.com) looks like there are problems on it and I am using IE 8.
